Welcome to "Music by Design," the Symphony's 2011-2012 concert season. With design there are many steps: creation, planning, production and implementation. We have each step in order to have a series of wonderful concerts. After all, it is "All about the Music" and those who we wish to share it with, our "Audience".
Our spectacular opening concert is designed to showcase our orchestra as they perform beloved works by Mozart, Verdi and Dvorak, and then are joined by pianist Jiri Levicek, the 2010 Sorantin winner. In November we welcome home, Michael Schneider, as he dazzles us on the piano. The merriment of the Twin Mountain Tonesmen will be enjoyed by all at the Christmas Pops Concert. In February, the Symphony offers a Rodeo Night and following in March, a passionate evening with Mexican harpist Angel Padilla. Then it's the Wells Fargo Family Pops Concert with singer Steve Lippia. He will have us swooning to "Simply Sinatra." You will be both amazed and mesmerized by the beautiful music presented by Maestro Hector Guzman and YOUR San Angelo Symphony Orchestra. Each of these evenings has been designed for both our new and our loyal Symphony members.
As the new season begins, we reflect a moment on those treasured Symphony members we have recently lost. Their devotion to and support for the Symphony as well as the greater arts community has sustained us. Their dedication and love for the Symphony based on an appreciation of live symphonic music.
The San Angelo Symphony invites you to be a part of our live music presentations and ask you to consider joining our family if you haven't already. It is said "home is where the family comes together" so we welcome you into our two homes - the McNease Convention Center and the Junell Center.
On behalf of the San Angelo Symphony, I want to thank all of our concert sponsors, guest artist sponsors, corporate partners, program advertisers and subscribers. Your generosity and support have made it possible to continue to share beautiful symphonic music with our community.
Thank you for being part of the San Angelo Symphony family. We hope you will share your Symphony experiences with your friends and neighbors. This season has been designed with you in mind, and we always have room for one more. See YOU at the Symphony!
Sincerely,
Delilah Harper
2011-2012 President
San Angelo Symphony Board of Directors
