
David Phillips
David Phillips has been associated with the San Angelo Symphony Orchestra for some twenty-five years. As the Resident Conductor he has conducted the Town & Country July 3rd Pops concerts four of the past eight years. He is also the principal clarinetist and the production manager of the S.A.S.O.
David is presently in his twenty-fifth year as the Director of the Central High School Orchestras. He also directs the varsity level orchestra at Glenn Jr. High School. His orchestras have won over forty Sweepstakes Awards in U.I.L. competition including the past twenty consecutive years at C.H.S. In April of 2003, the C.H.S. Symphony Strings Orchestra performed in Carnegie Hall as part of the National Invitational Band and Orchestra Festival.
David is a product of San Angelo schools and earned both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music Education from Angelo State University. He and his wife Terrie have two daughters who are active in music as well.
